Politics and international relations
These paths reward reading and writing at the level of the law path, plus two things of their own: languages actually learned, and civic engagement that involved leaving the house — youth councils, campaigns, model UN held in person, community organising. History and languages grades carry the academic side; the engagement record carries the rest.
How old is your child?
Model UN, debate, a youth council if one exists. The language pushed toward real competence. Writing kept.
What most families do instead.
Opinions are mistaken for engagement. An applicant with strong views and no record of doing anything about them is the median; the differentiator is the youth council attended for two years, the language actually spoken.
What the record looks like after two years on this path.
- Sustained participation in one civic or international activity, with role and dates
- The language, progressed and evidenced
- Writing kept: essays, speeches, positions argued
- One competition — MUN, debate, essay prize — entered
Writing and argument, kept
Speeches and essays dated across years.
What to do this month.
- 1
Join the nearest thing to a youth council, MUN club or debate society.
- 2
Set the language level honestly and start the climb.
Sign up and the first conversation already knows the direction. The plan Cora builds is aimed at it from day one.
A path your child has not chosen will not survive the work. We build toward the direction you have in mind by getting your child genuinely interested in it — that is not a softer version of the goal, it is the only version that arrives.
And if they change direction at sixteen, the record survives it. Finishing things, building things, working with people — the evidence transfers.
