Privacy
What we collect, how we use it, and what happens to it.
Account and intake data
When the responsible adult creates an account and completes the intake form, we store the information provided: the adult's name and email, the child's name and age, city, interests, permissions, and other intake details.
Child profile and plan
Each child has a profile containing their personalized plan, projects, books, activities, goals, milestones, reflections, journal entries, evidence, outcomes, and monthly reports. All messages between the child, parent, and Cora are also stored as part of the profile.
For a child under ten, everything in the profile comes from you. The child has no access of their own at these ages, so nothing in the record is collected from the child directly.
Adult visibility
The responsible adult sees everything the child sees. The adult controls participation and permissions at all times.
Recordings
Raw family voice recordings are used for transcription and plan preparation and then removed. Transcripts, processing records, and resulting plans may remain. We do not claim a fixed deletion period, and we do not claim deletion if a file remains accessible.
Administrator access
Operational administrators have access to profiles, plans, and messages as needed to operate the service, preparing plans, reviewing safety flags, and supporting families.
Service providers
We use necessary service providers to operate the service, hosting, AI coaching, email delivery, and similar infrastructure. These providers process data only as needed to provide their services to us.
Partner schools and programs
Some schools, camps and programs pay Distinction to be discoverable by families here. This never changes what your child's plan contains or what Cora suggests. Paid placement is labeled wherever it appears, and it sits beside our answers rather than inside them.
We do not sell your data and we do not pass anything to a partner unless you ask us to. When you request information, you are shown exactly what will be sent before you send it: your child's first name, age, year group, curriculum interest, budget band, the country you live in, when you are considering a move, and your email address so they can reply. Nothing else goes, and nothing goes to any partner you did not choose.
Your child's projects, journal, reflections, chat messages with Cora, recordings and evidence are never shared with a partner under any circumstances.
We keep an anonymized record of what families search for, which we use to improve matching and to tell schools in aggregate where demand exists. It is never linked to your family in anything we publish or sell.
You can see everything you have shared, and withdraw it, in your privacy settings. When you withdraw, we tell the partner to delete the contact details they were given.
Showcase publication
A child's work may be published in the Showcase only with the parent's permission. Publication is opt-in, not default.
Correction and deletion
To request correction or deletion of your family's data, contact us. We will process legitimate requests, subject to the records needed to operate the service.
Military-connected families
For military-connected families who move across schools, cities, or countries, the record is designed to be portable. Projects, milestones, source corrections, obstacles, and revisits carry forward across every move. The archive does not reset when a family receives new orders. A parent can export the full dated record at any time. Read the military-connected families page →
What we do not claim
We do not claim specific data certifications, specific data locations, statements about model training, or specific regulatory compliance statuses. We do not claim that a partner's presence here is an endorsement of it.
