Three friends

What actually floats

Three friends who stopped guessing about buoyancy and started building hulls.

One of them dives, and diving makes you think about buoyancy whether you meant to or not. Rather than read about it, the three of them shaped hulls from solid blank, lashed the masts by hand, cut and fitted the sails, then carried the boats down to real water, where the answer is not up for discussion. A hull that sits level in still water does not necessarily sit level in a current. They found that out the only way anyone ever has.
