Printing the record at the end of a year is a ceremony, not a file format.
The work happened in small days you mostly were not watching. Once a year a family sits and reads it back, dated all the way through, and sees what was actually built while they were looking the other way. That is the moment. Everything below is only how it leaves the room.
Ask a seventeen year old what they were working on in March three years ago. They cannot tell you. Neither can you. The ceremony is the cure for that: one evening, once a year, the family opens the whole dated record and reads it forward. What gets read is not a summary somebody else chose. It is the year as it happened, in the child's own words, on the days it actually happened.
A family can print it and read it on a plane. They can hand it to a young person when they are twenty five. They can give the right part of it to the right adult at the right moment. The moment is the point. The formats are only the shapes it takes when it leaves.
The complete record
For the familyEverything, in one file: the plan, every project and milestone, all evidence and reflections, the obstacles and what followed them, dated throughout. It is the whole archive rather than a summary, which means anything else anyone needs later can be arranged from it.
This is the export that matters most. A summary is somebody else's choice about what was important. The complete record leaves that choice open.
The evidence pack
For a counselor or an adviserA readable dossier of one student: who they are, the chronological project record, selected reflections in their own words, the setbacks and revisits, and which adults observed which stage.

The recommender pack
For a teacher writing about a studentNarrower on purpose. One adult receives only what that adult personally observed: the dated interactions, the milestones they touched, the reflections that mention them, and a short neutral cover note. Setbacks are left out unless the student opts each one in.

The careers evidence export

Parents can export the full record at any time. Schools can export only students assigned to their license, and only for as long as that license runs. Recommender packs are limited to what that specific adult observed, and for students of about sixteen and over the student agrees to the pack before it is produced.
