Environment and sustainability
Environmental paths split into science (measured like any science: chemistry, biology, maths, field data) and policy (measured like law: writing, argument, engagement). Both reward the same rare evidence — actual field work, actual data collected, actual local projects — over declared passion, because passion is universal in this applicant pool and evidence is not.
How old is your child?
First real data: a water survey, a species count, a school energy audit — small, local, measured, written up. The science levels checked, and the fork between science and policy starts becoming visible.
What most families do instead.
The applicant pool is full of passion statements and empty of data. A school recycling campaign photographed for social media is decoration; a year of measurements from the local stream is evidence. Admissions can tell.
What the record looks like after two years on this path.
- One local project with real measurements, run over months
- The data and write-up, dated
- Science levels tracked, or the writing portfolio if the policy fork
- One programme, competition or citizen-science scheme entered
A project with data
Cora runs the field project like real science: question, measurements, write-up, all dated.
Schemes and competitions
Citizen science, environmental olympiads and youth programmes, by location.
Show meWhat to do this month.
- 1
Pick one measurable local question — the stream, the school's energy, the bird count — and take the first measurement.
- 2
Run the relevant science assessment.
Sign up and the first conversation already knows the direction. The plan Cora builds is aimed at it from day one.
A path your child has not chosen will not survive the work. We build toward the direction you have in mind by getting your child genuinely interested in it — that is not a softer version of the goal, it is the only version that arrives.
And if they change direction at sixteen, the record survives it. Finishing things, building things, working with people — the evidence transfers.
